In order to add a new Content Type to SharePoint that would be available to your content authors, such as CEO Messages, Employee Communications, Policies & Procedures etc., follow these steps:
Navigate to SA/SS/MASS.
Under Galleries, select “Site content types”
Click Create in the menu bar.
- Enter a Name & Description for your new Content Type.
- Select the “Article Page” content type from the “Page Layouts Content Types”.
- Select the group of your choice to place the Content Type into. In our case we selected the Page Layout Content Types.
